1. Aim & Motivation
First of all, let me introduce myself, I am Salome Oniani and recently I am studying at Georgian Technical University as a PhD student. I have attended my Master’s degree in Informatics and Control System at Georgian Technical University.
The postgraduate curriculum in Informatics and Control System at the Institute of technology, Georgia Technical University, Georgia introduced me to a wide variety of control system subjects. Various courses like Optimal Systems, Programming Languages, Identification of Dynamic System, and Software Engineering provided me with strong knowledge in the theoretical concept of Informatics and Control system.
While offering both depth and breadth across this field, these courses put into perspective the importance and relevance of Informatics and Control System and the application of its fundamentals to the problems faced by the real world. So, I can realize learning and developing my knowledge of Computer Science. I will have a great contribution to society since our country begins to transfer the manual system to computerize.
I am much eager to adopt and know about new technologies. I am really enthusiastic to attend the STSM of Computer Science in order to understand different Computer Science Concepts. The good reputation of high-quality education standards, an extremely distinguished faculty member, and research facilities are the factors which have motivated me to choose for my STSM Sc. visiting Universidade da Beria Interior.
My scientific object for STSM is “The Efficiency of the use of several sensors in real-time monitoring of Elderly People Activity”. This theme is related to my Ph.D. topic “The Verification Problem of Industrial Embedded System in Real-Time” and getting deep knowledge about real-time monitoring systems will help me to make my Ph.D. research more easily. Also, I think the methodology which will be used in STSM research help me to solve my Ph.D. goals. That’s why it is important for me to get more information about my Ph.D. theme. I think it is a good opportunity to go abroad and make research in there. Then I come back to my country and use my knowledge for my Ph.D. theme and this area will become well-known in Georgia.
2. Proposed contribution to the scientific objectives of the Action
Today, there are more popular the healthcare systems which include sensors, embedded systems, wireless communication technologies. So there are many monitoring systems in the world market which needs to check their efficiency. Also, it is important to take care our old generations (they have given us present life and made ground for your future) and examine their activity levels in daily life to keep their well-being so long time.
The Efficiency of the use of several sensors in real-time monitoring of Elderly People Activity includes detecting body actions like sitting, standing, laying, walking and so on. Its main aim is to clarify periods of each activity in aged persons and check the reliability of already existing real-time health monitoring systems.
For the research will be used body activity monitoring sensors:
• Heart rate detector to detect a speed of heart pulse;
• Blood pressure detector for measure bloody distribution thought the baddy;
• Baddy temperature detector;
• Baddy stress level detector;
• Caloric expenditure rate detector for detecting and measuring the caloric expenditure rate of the subject body pressure.
The first step of the study will be doing experimental work with the participant for what to create project protocol where will report about activities of the project exercise.
The second stage is collecting data from sensors and preparing it for analyses (detecting noise in the databases and remove them from it), and next activity of the research will be making statistical analyses of the data.
So, based on the experimental work and examination the data from sensors of the body activity monitoring system we will give results about their efficiency in elderly people activity.
